I’m Jillayna (said Jill-anna)! I’m a psychotherapist, writer and photographer with a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health and degrees in Psychology and Anthropology. I am a lover of all things people, culture and writing. I have previously done freelance writing and photography for various sources in the US and Canada including The Huffington Post, Scary Mommy, ShebyShe, and The Ottawa Citizen. I also have experience doing volunteer work in Haiti, and writing and advocating for my passions– which include human rights in the US, and in impoverished countries (namely, Haiti and areas in Africa), child and adolescent mental health (with a focus on depression, anxiety and identity development) and the psychological and social implications of the modern western world. I am  a Canadian transplant currently living in St. Louis with my husband and our kiddo. I am a total feminist Pro Freak Flag. I currently work as a clinician doing therapy with immigrant and refugee children, who have my whole heart. <3
